Actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with assault and sex offences.
The 53-year-old Australian native is famous for his roles in Aussie soaps Home and Away and Neighbours.
Victoria Police confirmed to the ABC that sex crime detectives charged a 53-year-old NSW man with one count of common law assault, eight counts of indecent assault, and one count of attempted indecent assault.
The charges coincide with the actor’s time working on the Rocky Horror Show musical in Melbourne in 2014.
He played the lead role of Dr Frank-N-Furter in the show.
Craig was charged on summons to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 8.
He has been a prominent face on stages and screens in Australia, with a career spanning decades.
Craig lives in New South Wales and will have to travel to Melbourne for the court appearance.
