Ariana Grande skipped the 2019 Grammy Awards ceremony due to a public row with the show’s producers about the songs she was expected to sing.
Despite the dispute and not actually attending the event, the Bang, Bang singer managed to swipe the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her release, Sweetener.
Speaking out on Twitter to her 60.7m followers, the 25-year-old apologised to her devotees for her lack of appearance: “I know I’m not there tonight (trust, I tried and still truly wished it had worked out tbh) and I know I said I would try not to put too much weight into these things but f*** this is wild and beautiful thank you so much.”
Still celebrating her win from afar with fans, the Florida-born gal showed off her stunning gown on Instagram in a set of sultry snaps.
Seeming to hit back at the producers, the brunette captioned the image: “When Zac Posen makes you a custom gown it doesn’t matter if you’re singing or not… thank you.”
Putting on a busty display, Ariana flaunted her beautiful boob tube gown as she laid out on the floor.
Styling it out like a pro Miss Grande managed to escape a major wardrobe malfunction in the corset-style neckline.
Looking like a princess in the silk number, the songstress added plenty of bling with a diamond necklace and matching stud earrings.
Going all-out glam, she wore her hair in a top ponytail that cascaded down to her waistline.
Keeping her makeup classic, Ariana outlined her pretty eyes with a feline flick of eyeliner and lashings of mascara.
Flashing a sultry stare at the camera, she highlighted her lips in a glossy red lipstick.
It didn’t take long for her devotees to flood her with support for missing out on one of the most glamorous nights.
One ramped up the sass, saying: “When you look better than everyone at the Grammys.”
A second joked: “Cinderella who?”
Another gushed: “She’s a winner.”
While a fourth quipped: “Tell them who’s boss.”
Taking to Twitter at the time to explained why she would not be attending this year, Ariana wrote: “I can pull together a performance over night and you know that Ken. It was when my creativity and self expression was stifled by you that I decided not to attend.
Telling all about what caused the row, Ariana opened up saying: “I offered 3 different songs. It’s about collaboration. It’s about being supported.
“It’s about art and honesty, not politics, not doing favours or playing games. It’s just a game y’all and I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.”
Still grateful for her award, Miss Grande shared: “I hope this helps everyone understand my decision. I am still grateful for the acknowledgement this year.”
